Mass Alert System Approved for Pike County
Pike County will soon have a mass alert system for severe weather.
The Pike County commission has approved the free service for residents. EMA officials expect the service to be available in the next 2 months. Soon they will be working with the public for sign-ups. Officials opted for the service after they realized it would be cheaper than repairing current sirens.
The system is $6,500 a year for the county.
