City of Montgomery Will Host Half Marathon and 5K Saturday
The City of Montgomery will partner with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alabama, Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Alabama, Baptist Health, Montgomery Multisport and others to host the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alabama Montgomery Half Marathon and 5K Saturday beginning at 7 a.m.
Registration is still open for those interested by attending the Expo on Friday at Riverwalk Stadium. Registration is $40 for the 5K and $50 for the Half.
Beginning in the heart of The Alley entertainment district, the 13.1 mile USATF certified course spans some of Montgomery’s most vibrant neighborhoods and historic sites, from Old Cloverdale and the F. Scott Fitzgerald Museum to Capitol Heights and Hank William’s final resting place at Oakwood Cemetery.
Runners will breeze past Alabama State University, Huntingdon College and Troy University, on their way to the finish line at Riverwalk Stadium.
For those interested in supporting the event but not running this year, organizers encourage anyone and everyone to line the streets, restaurants and businesses located along the race route to cheer runners.
