Update: Dog Dies in House Fire on Vaughn Road in Pike Road

A house fire in Pike Road left a family’s home with extensive damage.

The fire happened at a home in the 9900 block of Vaughn Road at around 10:30 p.m. Friday.

Fire crews arrived to find the back of the house destroyed.

Capt. David Hughes of the Pike Road Volunteer Fire Dept. says nobody in the home was hurt, but unfortunately the family dog Coco ran into the home to save her owners and died at the scene.

The American Red Cross has been called in to help. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

The Curry Family now has a gofundme page and would greatly appreciate any donations you can click here to donate.
