Sunny, Warmer Tuesday; Calm Weather Continues
Tuesday morning was seasonably cool with lows ranging from the mid to upper 50s for most. Sunshine was abundant, with essentially a cloudless sky across central and south Alabama throughout the morning. Temperatures were warmer at midday than Monday, ranging from the mid to upper 70s for many. Temperatures trend warmer during the afternoon in comparison to Monday too. They peak in the mid 80s for most, perhaps upper 80s for some.
Despite the warmer afternoon temperatures, Tuesday night lows could be a bit cooler than Monday night. It looks like temperatures fall into the mid to upper 50s again, but perhaps a degree or two cooler for any given location versus Monday night. The sky remains clear overnight, leading to another mainly sunny day Wednesday. Models hint that a small disturbance rolls through Alabama Wednesday night. It could increase clouds at that time.
Models also show the potential for a few light showers among the clouds Wednesday night. However, the potential looks very low. Any showers that manage to form are likely gone by Thursday morning. While the morning may feature clouds mixed with sunshine, the afternoon looks mostly sunny. Temperatures warm into the upper 80s in many locations Wednesday and Thursday afternoon.
While our area remains mainly rain-free this week, low rain chances return Friday through the weekend. That said, none of those days look like washouts. Friday and Saturday’s rain chances are minuscule, with just a couple brief downpours possible during the afternoon or evening. Most locations miss out on rain, with a sun/cloud mix and highs in the upper 80s each day.
Sunday’s rain chance looks a bit better, but not by much. Models still show a cold front approaching Alabama Sunday. It could trigger some showers or storms during the day as it arrives. Models also show the front pushing to our south Sunday night. However, the front won’t bring cooler temperatures early next week. In fact, temperatures likely trend even warmer, with highs near 90° next Monday and Tuesday afternoon.
