Sly and the Family Stone to perform at Bridge Crossing Jubilee

The annual Bridge Crossing Jubilee in Selma — is coming up at the end of the month.

This year’s event runs from February 29th through March 3rd.

Organizers are still working to finalize the schedule of events. But they did tell Action 8 News that legendary soul and funk band — Sly and the Family Stone — will perform at the Jubilee Festival on Saturday.

“They’ve already confirmed with us. It’s the same group, it’s the same old group. It’s still, all of them still living and they all still together. So they gon’ be coming , bringing back some of those old favorite songs of the 70s,” said Jubilee Co-coordinator Sam Walker.

Sly and the Family Stone topped the charts during the 60s & 70s with hits like — Hot Fun in the Summertime — Everyday People — Thank you for lettin’ me be myself — Stand — and Family Affair — just to name a few.
