ACTION 8 UPDATE: Reward increased in case of fatal shooting in Montgomery

ACTION 8 UPDATE: Central Alabama CrimeStoppers has announced the reward for information to solve the fatal shooting of a man in Montgomery has been raised to $2,500.

Montgomery police say 67-year-old Rufus McCants was found shot at about 11:55AM on Sunday, July 3, 2022, in the 1300 block of North Ripley Street. Investigators believe the shooting happened somewhere else.

McCants was taken to a hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
