Tennessee woman dies in Lowndes County crash

An accident in Lowndes County has claimed the life of a Tennessee woman.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency tells Action 8 News that the single-vehicle crash happened on Thursday around 1:50 p.m. on I-65 near the 153 mile marker, approximately two miles north of Letohatchee.

Troopers say 84-year-old Rebecca Ready, of Christina, TN, was fatally injured when the 2003 Toyota Camry she was driving left the roadway, struck a ditch and overturned. Ready was pronounced dead on the scene.

ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division is investigating the accident.
