Life of Montgomery Police Department chaplain remembered
People all across Montgomery are pausing to remember the life of Montgomery Police Department Chaplain Antonio Seales.
Seales died Tuesday at the age of 51. He had been the chaplain for MPD since 2021 but began working with the department back in 2013 as part of the city’s Operation Good Shepherd program.
Flags flew at half staff today in his memory.

Police leaders say losing Seales is a great loss. Those close to him say he wasn’t just the chaplain, but a close friend to many in the department.
“He worked closely with us,” Lt. Commander Willie Stewart told Action 8 News. “There was a lot of sadness, and so we all kind of got together and just kind of talked about the good times we had with him, whether it was what we call “walk and talk” or “Coffee with a Cop,” he will always be there. So we are all dealing with his loss in our own different way. It’s just one day at a time.”
Action 8 News has requested information on Seales’ cause of death and we are still awaiting an official response, which we will pass along to you.
Funeral arrangements have not yet been announced.
