Lowndes Co. Sheriff facing charges in Hayneville

The Lowndes County Sheriff is facing charges following a heated exchange with the county commission at a recent commission meeting.
Hayneville Police Chief Kelvin Mitchell says Sheriff Christ West turned himself in — after learning that a warrant had been signed against him.
West is charged with Harassment — and Interfering-with-a-Governmental-Operation.
Mitchell says West was booked and released on $1035 dollars bond.
A court date was set for October 10th in the case at Hayneville Municipal Court.
