Pike Road honors military veterans
America’s military veterans were honored Sunday during the 13th Annual Pike Road Veterans Appreciation Ceremony. The Capitol Sounds Concert Band played patriotic music as local veterans were recognized for their service.
Troy University’s Air Force and Army ROTC Color Guard made the Presentation of the Colors, and then the Pike Road High School Show Choir sang the National Anthem for the crowd.
A highlight of the event was the dedication of newly installed brick pavers honoring seven individual veterans and a wreath laying ceremony. The Pike Road Quilters also presented a handmade, patriotic quilt to a veteran in attendance.
