Volunteers, food items needed for Salvation Army Christmas Eve meals

23salvationarmyThe Salvation Army of Montgomery says it is in urgent need of help to feed over 300 seniors and families on Christmas Eve.

Capt. Thomas Johnson tells Action 8 News that the nonprofit is still in need of food items and volunteers to ensure no one in the Montgomery area goes hungry this Christmas.

Items needed include turkey, ham, eggs, green beans, and other holiday staples to create hearty and festive meals for those in need.

Volunteers are also critical to help prepare and distribute meals to the community. Meal Preparation will be held at Prattmont Baptist Church on Smith Road in Prattville on the morning of the 24th.

Anyone wishing to donate, volunteer, or be added to the list to receive a meal is encouraged to call 334-265-0865 by Monday, December 23rd.

Contributions can be dropped off at The Salvation Army offices, located at 4250 Lomac Street in Montgomery during business hours.
