Greenville man dies in Lowndes County crash
A single-vehicle crash in Lowndes County has claimed the life of a Greenville man.
State troopers say the crash happened around 6:45 a.m. Saturday on Interstate 65 near the 147 mile marker, approximately five miles north of Fort Deposit.
36-year-old Sylvester Seawright, Jr. was critically injured when the 2021 Volvo VNR tractor-trailer he was driving left the roadway, struck a signpost and several trees.
Troopers say Seawright, Jr. was pronounced dead on the scene.
The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s Highway Patrol Division is investigating the cause of the crash.
