Frost likely Thursday night, warming temperatures into the weekend

Thursday was a cool and windy first day of spring across central and south Alabama. Temperatures were merely in the 50s during the afternoon. Meanwhile, wind gusts were as high as 40 mph during the day. However, winds gradually subside Thursday night. Clouds clear, and that sets the stage for temperatures to fall into the low and mid 30s overnight. Frost looks likely early Friday morning. A frost advisory covers all of our area Thursday night.

Temperatures warm into the mid and upper 60s Friday afternoon. The sky remains mainly sunny. Friday night looks less cold, with lows in the low 40s. Saturday looks mostly sunny with highs in the mid 70s. Sunday looks fairly sunny, but clouds may increase by the late afternoon. Rain returns Sunday night into Monday morning. Some storms could be in the mix too.

Monday afternoon trends drier. From there, the rest of the week looks mainly dry at this time. Another front may slide through Alabama Tuesday night. However, water content in the atmosphere looks limited, so we may not get much if any rain. Tuesday through Friday look partly cloudy, with gradually warming temperatures. Some rain appears possible next weekend.
