Montgomery Academy named Carly Falcione as their next Head Volleyball Coach

The Montgomery Academy’s Athletic Director, Wright Ward, has announced Carly Falcione as the school’s new Varsity Volleyball Head Coach. Coach Falcione will take the helm of the school’s program following the retirement of Coach Julie Gordon after a storied 46-year-long career at the end of the 2024-25 school year. Coach Gordon announced her retirement in December 2024.

“It is both humbling and exciting to follow Coach Gordon, knowing the incredible impact she had at The Montgomery Academy and the entire volleyball community throughout the state,” said Coach Falcione. “This volleyball program is held in high regard throughout the state, and southeast, and I am eager and excited to play a role in the lives of these young ladies that come through our program. I want to thank Coach Ward, Mr. McWilliams, and the rest of the administration and staff at MA who participated in this process. Thank you for entrusting me with these students and the program. I look forward to serving MA and its community. Go Eagles!”

“After several conversations with Coach Falcione and watching the way she interacted with our student-athletes, it was evident she was the right person for this job,” said MA Athletic Director Wright Ward. “Coach Falcione recognizes and embraces the expectations that come with leading a program like ours. She understands and deeply respects the strong foundation built by Coach Gordon over the last four decades and is committed to upholding the same high standards as she leads the program into the future.”

Originally from Georgia, Coach Falcione began her collegiate Volleyball career at Valdosta State University. In 2017, she transferred to Auburn University at Montgomery where she completed a
Bachelors of Science Degree in Communication Disorders and a Masters of Education Degree in Sports Management. Coach Falcione played for the Warhawks from 2017-2018 and served as a
Graduate Assistant Coach in 2019 for AUM. Since 2020, she has served as Assistant Volleyball Coach at Huntingdon College.
