Tiffany McCord appointed to Montgomery County Circuit Court
Governor Ivey has appointed Montgomery County District Court Judge Tiffany McCord as the circuit court judge for Montgomery County.
Judge McCord will fill the unexpired term of Judge Johnny Hardwick. Judge Hardwick recently retired on March 31 after serving over two decades on the bench.
Judge McCord was sworn into office on Thursday in the same courtroom that Judge Hardwick began his career on the bench as a judge in 2001.
Judge McCord released this statement to Action 8 News following taking the oath of office:
“First of all, allow me to say that I am very thankful to Governor Ivey for the trust and the confidence that she has placed in me by appointing me to serve on the 15th Judicial Circuit as a circuit court judge,” McCord said. “I promise to her – and to all of our citizens – that I will work long and hard to uphold the rule of law under the Code of Alabama and to make certain that justice is served on behalf of all of our residents in a fair and impartial manner.”
Judge McCord, who is a resident of Montgomery, has 23 years of legal experience. She has a degree in history from Auburn University at Montgomery and received her juris doctorate degree from Faulkner University’s Thomas Goode Jones School of Law.
