8 ON YOUR SIDE CONSUMER ALERT:  GM and Ford are recalling hundreds of thousands of pickup trucks and SUVs.

GM RECALL

General Motors is recalling nearly 600,000 vehicles because engine components may have defects that could lead to engine damage or failure.

The recall affects 2021-2024 Cadillac Escalade, Chevrolet Silverado 1550, Chevrolet Suburban and Chevrolet Tahoe models, as well as GMC Sierra 1500 and GMC Yukon models.

Owners can get free inspections and repairs at their dealer.

FORD RECALL

Ford is recalling nearly 300,000 Ford and Lincoln vehicles because if issues with the rearview camera which could increase the risk of a crash.

The vehicles in the recall are 2015 Lincoln MKC, Lincoln Navigator, Ford Expedition, Ford F-250, Ford F-350 and Ford F-450 trucks as well as 2022-2023 Ford Bronco models.

Owners should expect a letter soon and repairs will be made for free.
