The City of Wetumpka has announced its first store coming to the River Town Center.

Mayor Jerry Willis, the Wetumpka City Council, and the City of Wetumpka Economic Development Department said the first parcel will be Tractor Supply Company, the nation’s largest rural lifestyle retailer.

Tractor Supply will construct a new store on the site, offering a wide selection of products for home improvement, agriculture, pet care, livestock, and outdoor living.

“River Town Center represents our shared vision for Wetumpka’s future,” said Mayor Jerry Willis. “We are thrilled to welcome Tractor Supply as the first anchor in this development and look forward to continued progress in the months ahead.”

The City broke ground on the new shopping center in June 2024.

The River Town Center is said to be a cornerstone of economic development on the west side of Wetumpka, bringing a diverse array of restaurants, retail, lodging and more to the west side of the Coosa River.

The shopping center will be located on Coosa River Parkway, across from the Wetumpka Sports Complex.

The City hopes to announce more tenants throughout the summer.

Construction of the Tractor Supply store is slated to begin later this summer, with an opening targeted for Winter 2025.
