CAMPAIGN 2026: Former congressional candidate announces candidacy for Alabama governor
A former congressional candidate and past president of the Mid-Alabama Republican Club, has announced his candidacy for governor of Alabama.
Ken McFeeters, a Hoover insurance agency co-founder and Alabama resident since 1971, says he wants to offer voters a choice of someone who will challenge the establishment power players in the state and across the country.
McFeeters is the second Republican to announce their candidacy for governor, with current U.S. Senator Tommy Tuberville also vying for the position.
McFeeters says his platform offers a bold vision for Alabama’s future: a state that can feed itself, educate its children, and take back control from the corrupt forces that have dominated politics for decades. He says his vision for Alabama includes:
- Restoring independence through medicine, local food production, energy, and resources.
- A new, more accountable education system that focuses on discipline, critical thinking, values/virtues, and practical skills.
- A strong, pro-freedom economy that resists the globalist agenda and puts Alabama’s interests first.
- A government that works for the people, not the elites.
McFeeters ran against U.S. Rep. Gary Palmer in 2024, but finished third in the primary with only 6% of the vote.
Alabama’s primary takes place on May 19, 2026.
