Team members at the Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Alabama are once again giving back to the community.

HMMA team members donated $14,209 of their personal funds during the Heart of Alabama Food Bank during HMMA’s annual food drive.

In addition to the funds collected, HMMA made an additional $10,000 corporate donation, bringing the total to $24,209.

“HMMA has a culture of generosity inspired by our 4,200 team members,” said Mark Rader, HMMA President and CEO. “This donation, over half of which comes from the pockets and hearts of our team members, is more than just a number – it’s groceries on shelves, meals on tables, and hope to those who worry today that they won’t be able to eat tomorrow. Their deep sense of community doesn’t just inspire us, it defines us.”

Each dollar donated to the Heart of Alabama Food Bank can provide five meals to Alabamians in need. The donation made by HMMA and its team members equates to more than 121,000 meals for those experiencing hunger and food insecurity in the River Region and beyond.
