Pine Level holds input meeting for first comprehensive plan

Residents in one Autauga County town had the opportunity to give their input about its future.

The Town of Pine Level held its third input meeting Saturday at its community center.

Residents had the chance to say what they would like the town to look like going forward.

Some of the topics discussed included road infrastructure, improvements to local schools and businesses, and organizing more community events and fundraisers.

DesignAlabama, a nonprofit consulting group, demonstrated how the town can upgrade things, while keeping the small town charm.

“For a small town, we’re very community oriented,” said Pine Level Mayor Zachary Bigley. “We’re just trying to get this thing off the ground, and we’re very thankful for all the support. I want to make it very clear. As the mayor of Pine Level, Pine Level level is open for business. We are ready for growth, and we are looking forward to all the future businesses that are coming to our area.”

Thanks to a passing of a bill this legislative session, the Town of Pine Level was able to extend its corporate limits, especially at Exit 186 on I-65.

The passing of the bill allows the town to collect the full tax rate from businesses on both sides of the interstate.
