New businesses announced for Wetumpka’s new shopping center

The City of Wetumpka has announced two more businesses coming to the new River Town Center.
The first one is the The GOAT Bar and Grill. The Alabama-based restaurant will offer a modern sports bar atmosphere. It will serve as a dining option for families, teams and guests attending events. The GOAT has another location in Prattville.
The second is the NextGen Fun Park. The indoor play and recreation center will offer climbing structures, interactive activity zones and birthday party space for children of all ages.
“For years, our residents have asked for more indoor activities for kids, and we are proud to help bring this new option to town,” said Mayor Jerry Willis. “NexGen Fun Park adds another layer to our family entertainment offerings and gives parents more choices close to home.”
The City says it has worked closely with local entrepreneurs over the past year to bring both projects to life. The goal is to make River Town Center’s role as a destination for recreation, dining, and community gathering.
Both projects are located near the Wetumpka Sports Complex. Construction is expected to begin this year, with openings targeted for 2026.
Last month, the City announced that Tractor Supply will anchor the new development. It is scheduled to open in the Winter 2025.
