Synovus part of $8.6 billion bank merger
Major changes are coming to Synovus Bank, which has branches in Montgomery, Prattville and elsewhere in Alabama.
Synovus Bank is merging with Pinnacle Bank in a deal valued at $8.6 billion.
Synovus is based in Columbus, Georgia, while Pinnacle is headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee.
The merged bank will take the Pinnacle name.
There’s no word on any branch closures.
The deal is expected to be completed early next year, giving the merged bank a presence in nine states.
It will have assets of more than $115 billion.
