2 injured, 1 critical, in separate overnight shootings

Two people have been injured, one critically, after separate shootings in Montgomery overnight.
According to the Montgomery Police Department, the first shooting happened around 1:20 a.m. That’s when MPD responded to the 5100 block of Carmichael Road in reference to someone being shot.
When officers arrived, they found a man suffering from a life-threatening gun shot wound. The man was transported to a local hospital in critical condition.
The second shooting also happened around 1:20 a.m. when MPD responded to the 2300 block of E. Fifth Street in reference to someone shot. There, officers located a man who sustained a non life-threatening gun shot wound.
After investigating, it was determined the incident took place in the 1500 block of Rex Street.
The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
Montgomery Police say the shootings are not believed to be related at this time.
So far, no arrests have been made and no further information is available in connection to these ongoing investigations.
