One person killed, two hurt, in Auburn crash
One person has died and two others were left hurt in a two-vehicle crash in Auburn.
Auburn police say the wreck happened Saturday, August 16, at about 9PM at the intersection of Shug Jordan Parkway and Richland Road.
Police say the driver and passenger in one of the vehicles, an 82-year-old man and a 77-year-old woman, were seriously hurt. The man was taken to East Alabama Medical Center by ambulance, while the woman was flown to Piedmont Columbus Regional.
Police say the woman died about two hours later. Her name hasn’t been released.
The driver of the other vehicle, a 24-year-old man, received first aid at the scene and didn’t require hospital care.
Police say the crash is being investigated by the Auburn Police Traffic Homicide Unit, however no criminal actions are associated with the crash at this time.
