Town of Pine Level donates money to volunteer fire department

The Pine Level Volunteer Fire Department received a major monetary gift thanks to a resolution recently passed by the town council.

The Town of Pine Level approved the $33,000 contribution to the volunteer firefighters earlier this month.

The money will be used to purchase life-saving medical equipment, including an AED, and to purchase specialized medical equipment bags necessary to stock emergency response vehicles and various single-use medical supplies.

Pine Level Mayor Zachary Bigley and town officials made the presentation to the Fire Chief Austin Worcester, along with members of the fire department, during a special ceremony Friday at the fire department located on County Road 40.

The Pine Level Volunteer Fire Department covers approximately 65 square miles.
