Prattville officials announced Friday that a shingles manufacturer is coming to the city.

Owens Corning has selected the city for its new plant in the southeastern United States.

The 250,000 square foot plant will be located at the South Industrial Park, located between U.S. Highway 82 and County Road 4.

According to Owens Corning, the Prattville location will operate a four-wide laminator capable of producing around six million squares of laminate shingles per year. In addition, it will support the biggest asphalt single region in the country, while enhancing service across the company’s entire shingle network.

The facility is expected to have nearly 100 employees.

Construction is expected start in early 2026 with production beginning sometime in 2027.
