The Lee County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a Cusseta man in a domestic violence-related incident.

Lee County Sheriff Jay Jones tells Action 8 News that around 9:57 a.m. Wednesday, deputies received a 911 call and were made aware that a man was traveling to his home to harm his wife and children. Authorities say he also threatened to “shoot up” the house.

The called told dispatch that two days prior, the man held a gun to a family member’s head and threatened them.

Sheriff Jones says deputies responded to the home in the 1800 block of Lee Road 270 to conduct a welfare check on the family.

Once they arrived, they observed the suspect’s vehicle traveling toward the home.

Deputies immediately pulled the suspect over.

Sheriff Jones says the suspect, identified as 36-year-old Jacob Matthew Brown, admitted to deputies that he did make the threats because he was angry.

Deputies found a handgun in the front of vehicle.

Brown was taken into custody and deputies found a small amount of methamphetamine on him. They also located two rifles in the trunk of the vehicle.

Brown has been charged with one count of 3rd degree Domestic Violence, one count of Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance and one count of Certain Persons Forbidden to Carry a Firearm.

He is currently in the Lee County Detention Center on a $12,000 bond.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to contact the Lee County Sheriff’s Office at 334-749-5651 or Crime Stoppers at 334-215-STOP.
