Reaction to officer-involved shooting in Dannelly Pines neighborhood in Montgomery
The quiet Dannelly Pines neighborhood of Montgomery was the scene of an officer-involved shooting between a suspect and an ALEA agent this week.
The neighborhood, off of U.S. Highway 80 near the Montgomery Regional Airport, was where 25-year-old Jadarrian O’Neal Clemons of Montgomery was shot and killed after shooting an ALEA special agent on Wednesday evening. The shooting happened in the 4000 block of Longleaf Drive. Investigators say Clemons was a suspect in a robbery case and they were trying to arrest him.
Residents in Dannelly Pines told Action 8 News they were shocked to have this type of incident happen in their neighborhood.
One woman we spoke with said she wasn’t aware of the shooting until she checked social media.
“I’ve been out here 40 years and never heard of anything like this happening in my neighborhood,” Hester Hendon said.
The ALEA special agent who was shot several times is being treated at a Montgomery hospital. ALEA says the agent is expected to recover.
