Dallas County EMA giving away weather radios

The Dallas County Emergency Management Agency is giving away weather radios to senior citizens and the disabled as we approach the heart of severe weather season in Alabama.

One of the peak times for tornadoes in Alabama is between March and May.

About 45 weather radios were given away at Summer Grove Missionary Baptist Church yesterday. It was the third of five scheduled giveaways that the EMA is having this week. As part of that, Dallas County EMA Director Toya Stiles Crusoe gave a presentation to teach people how to be prepared and safe when dangerous weather approaches.

Upcoming giveaways are scheduled for today at E.M Brown Community Center in Minter and at the Courthouse Annex in Selma on Friday morning at 10AM.
