Wetumpka police officer named CrimeStoppers 2025 Officer of the Year

WETUMPKA, Ala. (WAKA) – A Wetumpka police officer has been named the CrimeStoppers 2025 Officer of the Year.
Cpl. Kameron Ricks, who was presented with the award on Monday, was nominated by Wetumpka Police Chief Ed Reeves.
In his nomination, Chief Reeves described Cpl. Ricks as “an inspiration to every member of this department.”
Cpl. Ricks has served the Wetumpka Police Department for more than four years and has built a reputation for dependability, strong work ethic, and commitment to the community.
Throughout his career, he has served as a Patrol Officer, Narcotics Investigator, Patrol Supervisor, and certified SWAT Officer.
Cpl. Ricks is also known for his willingness to take on additional responsibilities, assist fellow officers, and continue his professional development through ongoing training.
Officials say his leadership, compassion, and steady presence have earned the respect of both peers and supervisors.
