Man sentenced for fatal stabbing at Montgomery gas station
MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WAKA) – A man has been sentenced to life without parole for a fatal stabbing that happened at a Montgomery gas station.
Montgomery County District Attorney Azzie Oliver says Judge J.R. Gaines sentenced Marcus Johnson for the fatal stabbing of Paris Clarke.
Oliver says on November 18, 2019, an exchange of words between Johnson and Clarke turned physical when Johnson shoved and began hitting Clarke. As an unarmed Clarke tried to fight back, Oliver says Johnson pulled out a knife and started stabbing him. Clarke suffered an 8-inch cut to his arm, which severed his brachial artery. He was taken to Baptist Medical Center South, where he later died.
A Montgomery County jury found Johnson guilty of intentional murder in March.
