Dallas Co. man jailed following burglary investigation

A Selma man is arrested on more than a half-dozen criminal charges — following a burglary investigation in the Burnsville community.

Sheriff Mike Granthum says an uptick in burglaries around the Co. Rd. 80 area — sparked the investigation that lead to the arrest of 33 year old Matthew York.

He says the evidence uncovered during the investigation — helped investigators secure a warrant to search York’s house.

“So far, we were able to clear three burglaries, three residential burglaries just off this one subject. Now there are some more pending burglaries that we’re looking at. Due to the high volume of what was stolen, we think he had some help,” said Granthum.

York is facing charges that include — burglary — theft — forgery — and possession of a controlled substance. He’s being held on a $106,000 dollars bond.
