SEC Media Days: Pete Golding prepares for first full season as Ole Miss head coach

TAMPA, Fla. (WAKA) – Action 8 Lace Up Sports is in Tampa, Florida, for SEC Media Days, where former Alabama defensive coordinator Pete Golding prepares for his first full season as Ole Miss head coach.

Golding got the top job when Lane Kiffin bolted for LSU just before the Rebels went to the playoffs in 2025. He led the team to two playoff victories before Ole Miss lost to Miami in the Fiesta Bowl to go 13-1.

Action 8 Sports Analyst John Longshore believes the Rebels will remain a strong team, especially with the return of starting quarterback Trinidad Chambliss. He says he’s not sure they can get back to the level of play that they enjoyed a year ago.
