Six people arrested in major drug bust in the Capital City

Mpd Briefing

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WAKA) – The Montgomery Police Department has announced a major drug bust in the capital city.

MPD made the announcement during a monthly briefing Thursday to provide an update on its crime-fighting efforts.

It reports that crime is down, including violent crime and homicides.
Police Chief James Graboys says the drugs confiscated include marijuana, crystal meth, cocaine and fentanyl. It has a street value of nearly one million dollars.
Six people have been arrested so far in that investigation.
“We said four weeks ago that we were just starting and this is all still going,” says Chief Graboys. “If you’re breaking the law in Montgomery and doing the activities that lead to this, we’re coming for you. I want to be unequivocal about that. The men and women of the this department are going to be relentless in pursuing everything we can pursue to make Montgomery safer.”
The identities of the six people arrested have not been released yet, but the chief says more arrests are expected.
