Covington County welcomes Southern Transformer Services

Covington County is experiencing economic growth as the city of Florala welcomes a new million dollar industry.

Energy across South Alabama is now more accessible as Southern Transformer Services Completes construction on their Covington County site giving new life to transformers.

Southern Transformer Services has taken on a million dollar impact in Florala with the completion of its new facility. The company takes old transformers and refurbishes them to new working order actively making energy more accessible to citizens in the southeast.

“We cover the SouthEast is what we claim”. says Southern Transformer Services CEO, Greg Taylor. “We have field service too. We have guys working in Texas, we have guys in Georgia that’s right now. But as far as where we sell, we’ll sell anywhere but our main focus is Florida, Georgia, and Alabama”.

With a current investment of over a million dollars there are plans to expand. The now 11 employees will increase to an estimated 50.

Actively increasing the livelihood of Covington County residents and surrounding areas.
