Pike County man arrested for stealing bridge end caps

PIKE COUNTY, Ala. (WAKA) – The Pike County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a man for stealing bridge end caps from county bridges.

Pike County Sheriff Russell Thomas says 57-year-old Bobby Richard “Ricky” Faulkner, of Linwood, has been charged with first degree theft of property for stealing bridge end caps valued at $4,800.

The investigation began after someone noticed the suspect removing bridge components in the area. Investigators had also observed Faulkner tampering with bridge end caps at one of the bridges.

The Sheriff’s Office received additional information that Faulkner was transporting the stolen bridge end caps on a trailer.

Investigators were able to obtain a warrant for Faulkner and he was taken into custody without incident.

Also during the investigation, deputies search Faulkner’s home and found illegal narcotics believed to be methamphetamine.

Sheriff Thomas says Faulkner is currently on probation for a sexual misconduct charge in 2023.

Faulkner is currently in the Pike County Jail.
