CAMDEN, Ala. (WAKA) – A Camden police officer has been killed in an off-duty motorcycle crash.

Cpl. Michael Andrews was killed Tuesday night.

His nickname was “Bone,” and the department says he was more than a police officer — he was a friend, a brother and a valued member of their police family.

Andrews was 49 years old, and had been on the force for about five to six years.

Action 8 News has learned that he crashed the motorcycle into a ditch in Thomasville, where he lived.

Thomasville police are still investigating.
