Opelika man arrested on sexual abuse charges

LEE COUNTY, Ala. (WAKA) – A Lee County man has been arrested on sexual abuse charges.
Lee County Sheriff Jay Jones says an investigator with the Thomas County Sheriff’s Office in Georgia reported the sexual abuse of a juvenile that allegedly occurred in the 200 block of Lee Road 446 in Opelika.
During the investigation, evidence was obtained that supported the allegations.
On September 25,2026, Lee County Sheriff’s Office Investigators arrested and charged 35-year-old Sylvester Emmitt Brown with one count of Enticing a Child for Immoral Purposes and one count
of 2nd Degree Sexual Abuse.
Brown is currently in the Lee County Detention Center on a $20,000 bond.
