CAMPAIGN 2026: Voters Guide for November 3 General Election
CAMPAIGN 2026 (WAKA) – Here’s a look at sample ballots, races, deadlines and everything you need to know before going to the polls in the November 3 General Election in Alabama.
What’s on the ballot?
This election includes statewide constitutional offices, such as governor, plus all 140 seats in the Alabama Legislature. Federal races include a U.S. Senate race and all seven of Alabama’s U.S. House districts. In addition, there are local races for county commission, school board and sheriff in many areas.

Some races are uncontested, which means you’ll see only one name on the ballot in addition to a place to write-in a different person’s name.
What are the deadlines?
OCTOBER 19 – Voter registration deadline
OCTOBER 27 – Last day to apply for absentee ballot by mail
OCTOBER 29 – Last day to apply for absentee ballot in person
NOVEMBER 2 – Last day to hand-deliver absentee ballot
NOVEMBER 3 – Absentee ballots returned by mail must be received by noon (except people covered by the Uniformed and Overseas Citizens Absentee Voting Act (UOCAVA)
What to expect on Election Day, November 3:
Polls are open from 7AM to 7PM statewide. You must be in line by 7PM in order to vote.
You must have a valid form of identification to vote. If you don’t have ID or your name is not on the voter roll, you may be able to vote using a provisional ballot.
