Much cooler, windy weather this weekend; Sunshine, dry next week
Clouds increase Friday afternoon as a cold front moves into our area. There may be a few brief, stray, light, miniature showers near the front as it moves through. However, most locations remain dry with a partly cloudy sky. High temperatures range from the mid to upper 80s Friday, but significantly cooler air arrives Friday night. Temperatures fall to near 50° with brisk north winds and a clearing sky behind the front.
A wind advisory runs from 10PM Friday to 7PM Saturday for south-central Alabama. Wind gusts could be as high as 40 mph, with sustained winds of 15-25 mph. The rest of the weekend remains breezy too. Otherwise, Saturday looks mainly sunny with temperatures struggling to reach 70° during the afternoon. Saturday night temperatures fall into the 40s. The sky remains mainly sunny with highs in the upper 60s to low 70s Sunday.
Our weather stays cooler next week, with highs still in the 70s Monday then close to 80° for the rest of the week. Temperatures fall into the 50s each night, if not 40s some nights. Meanwhile, it looks like our area remains dry with abundant sunshine through Friday. Next weekend looks mostly sunny and dry at this time, with highs in the low 80s and lows in the 50s.
