A few severe storms possible Wednesday; Dry, warm late this week

Wednesday started very warm and humid, with temperatures only falling to around 70° Tuesday night. Some sunshine broke out by midday, resulting in temperatures north of 80° at noon in some locations. By then, a line of showers was moving west to east into west Alabama. The rain was along a cold front which continues east through our area Wednesday afternoon and evening.

Along the cold front, a few storms may become severe through Wednesday evening. There is a marginal (level 1/5) severe risk near and east of I-65 and along and north of highway 80. Despite the very low overall severe risk, a brief tornado and a couple damaging wind gusts appear possible.
