In the five days since a massive earthquake devastated the country of Nepal, there’s been not only stories of mass destruction, but also of rescues.
One Troy University is watching all this unfold in her home country and she’s trying to do what she can thousands of miles away.
Grishma Rimal says some of her extended family lost their homes and they’ve been sleeping outside because of fear of after shocks.
Rimal and other Nepalese students set up a GoFundMe page to help collect donations for relief efforts.
“it’s a time of great crisis so I just want to a request everyone who’s either known someone from Nepal or even if they haven’t they can see the humanitarian crisis that’s going on. If they could just donate even a dollar, a dollar is 100 Nepali rupees and you can get three meals out of it,” Rimal said.
The money raised will be donated to the Nepal Red Cross and a non-governmental organization that works with water purification.

So far they’ve raised about 24-hundred dollars.
