Troy Community Pitches in To Help Send Archery Students To Nationals

 Troy Elementary archers are getting ready to head to the national championship in style.

 
Local businesses and community members pitched in to get the team new uniforms, ss well as donate to help pay for the fees and their trip to the national archery championship in Kentucky.
 
The elementary school archery team placed second in the state archery competition. 
 
This is the first time the school’s placed since 2008. 
 
The fourth and fifth graders will head to the national championship on May 9th. 
 
Kamerion Ousley, a fifth grader said, “It’s great and everything. I like it. Because when we go there we are going to walk in like we are the boss.”
 
Forrest Lee, the archery coach said, “They are pretty excited right now because everything is happening. They got the uniforms in today. The City of Troy, Mayor Reeves, he’s put together gift bags for them. So they are beyond excited.”
 
It’s the largest archery tournament in the world. They will face off against close to 14,000 other archers.
