Dallas Co. Man Shot and Killed During Home Invasion

From the West Alabama Newsroom– A Dallas County man is shot and killed during an apparent home invasion.
Authorities say 39 year old Jesscilus Phillips was shot when he surprised a burglar who had broken into his house.
They say it happened early Tuesday morning on the 800 block of Laredo Court in Pine Glenn Estates. They say Phillips died in his driveway.
Capt. Mike Grantham with the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the case.
“It appeared that he had at least one gunshot wound to the upper torso, said Grantham. “We were able to collect some evidence at the scene that will sent to forensics for processing.”
