Sunny & Very Nice Tuesday Afternoon
Couldn’t ask for much better weather to start off a week in mid-may. Monday featured high temperatures in the upper 70s to low 80s. Monday night lows dropping into the low to mid 50s. Alexander city even briefly touched the 40s, with a Tuesday morning low of 49°. Temperatures are on the way up this afternoon. Highs rebound into the mid to upper 70s with very low humidity and sunshine throughout the day. Temperatures fall to the upper 70s by 7PM this evening. Temperatures fall into the low 60s by 11PM. Overnight lows fall into the 50s under a clear sky. A couple temperature readings could be in the upper 40s early Wednesday morning.
A warming trend begins Wednesday. High temperatures reach the upper 70s to low 80s. The sky remains mostly sunny, but a disturbance tries to roll into the area from the north Wednesday night. Thanks to high pressure in place, its unlikely that much, if any rain is able to reach central and south Alabama. There could be a few spotty showers around after midnight Wednesday night, but measurable or widespread rain is not expected. Thursday features a partly cloudy sky, with temperatures warming into the mid/upper 80s. We’ll close out the week dry with a mostly sunny sky and high temperatures in the upper 80s on Friday.
This weekend looks much improved compared to last weekend. Saturday should be dry and mostly sunny with high temperatures near 90°. There’s a small chance for rain on Sunday as a storms system moves in from the west. The front associated with that system looks like it stays well west, so there may not be much rain reaching Alabama. That small chance for rain lingers into Monday with more summer-like warmth. Highs on Monday reach the upper 80s. Next Tuesday looks dry with a high near 90° and a partly cloudy sky.
