MIC Check Camp Grows Participation in Second Year

A unique music camp at Troy University is only in it’s second year, but this summer the number of participants has tripled.

Today’s the start of the MIC Check, standing for Music Industry Camp. And who better for the high schoolers to learn from than those in a variety of areas in the music industry.

Music professionals are teaching master classes focused on performance, engineering, song writing, artist management and more. All to introduce them to the global world of the music industry.

Noah Bellamy, Professional Trombonist/ Educator said, “I think a lot of times we focus on the reasons not to do something in music, whether it’s financial or the amount of work or whatever it takes. I’m proof, I think that if you desire a career path in music there are many different avenues and if that’s what you want to do you make it happen.”

Public is invited to the weekend showcase featuring talent of the region at 4 p.m. on Saturday at Long Hall.
