It’s almost back to school for Troy University students.

And when they return to campus a new $20 million residence hall will grab their attention.
It replaces Alumni Hall that stood since 1966. Construction leaders say it’s been a challenge to get it done in a year. That’s because of all the technology features.Almost all of the 400 beds are in private rooms with private bathrooms. Each room has a 42 inch TV with game system plugins and wifi

Herbert Reeves, Dean Student Services said, “It served it’s purpose but it’s not what students want today. They don’t want traditional dorms they want more amenities they want privacy and so for us to continue to recruit quality students we had to make a change and so I think people are very pleased with the outcome we have in there.”

On a given day there’s upwards of 200 people putting the final touches on the building. The dorms are ready for students to move in at the beginning of August.
