Bates House of Turkey Celebrates Grand Opening of Montgomery Location

Bates House of Turkey is a landmark restaurant in Greenville, and now it has returned to Montgomery.

As WAKA 8 has reported, the Montgomery location is in the Westminster Shopping Center at the corner of Zelda and Carter Hill roads. It held a soft opening last month, with the grand opening happening now.

Bates House of Turkey used to have a location on Eastern Boulevard near Interstate 85, but it closed years ago. Plenty of turkey lovers were on hand Monday to welcome Bates back to the Capital City.

“It’s just real exciting,” Rebecca Sloane, the owner and manager of the restaurant, said. “It’s just very humbling that Montgomery welcomed us this well, and it’s thrilling for me. As a mother and grandmother to see that maybe I’m going to leave my children something.”

The Bates Turkey Farm has operated in Fort Deposit for 100 years, this fall. Both the farm and the restaurants are family owned and operated.

Bates House of Turkey in Montgomery is open Monday-Friday from 11AM to 6PM.
