Cold nights, cool days, sunshine, rain-free for several days
Sunday was a gloomy day- cloudy, cool, wet, and even windy across central and south Alabama. A steady soaking rain overspread much of our area into the afternoon, but departed well to our east by the evening. Temperatures were quite cool due to clouds and rain Sunday. High temperatures were only in the 50s to low 60s. Sunday night turns noticeably cooler with a clearing sky, as a cold front pushes through and southeast of our area.
Morning lows range from the 30s to low 40s Monday. Afternoon temperatures only warm into the 50s, despite sunshine throughout the day. Winds remain out of the northwest at 10 mph. Monday night looks cold despite a temporary increase in clouds. Lows range from the low to mid 30s. High temperatures only warm into the 50s Tuesday and Wednesday, despite sunshine each day. Lows fall into the 30s each night, near or below freezing Tuesday night.
Thursday remains rain-free despite increasing clouds late in the day. Afternoon temperatures may finally warm into the 60s. Rain returns Friday through next weekend. Despite clouds and rain, temperatures warm into the upper 60s Friday through Sunday. Rain may linger Sunday night into early next week. Our area may trend drier again by next Tuesday.
