Nick Saban’s retirement as head football coach at Alabama is big news in Tuscaloosa and across the state. But it’s also big news in Auburn.

Some Tigers fans took time to roll Toomer’s Corner on Wednesday night.  It wasn’t as big of a display as if Auburn had won an Iron Bowl, but still, Auburn fans can’t help but feel good about the games to come.

Saban leaves with a 12-5 record against its in-state archrival.

In Saban’s time in Tuscaloosa going back to 2007, Auburn has had five head coaches and one interim to face him.

Saban has been part of some of the most memorable Iron Bowls in history — there was the “Kick Six” loss in 2013, the win in 2021 that took four overtimes and this season’s “4th and 31” victory that Bama fans will always remember.
